Paseo de la Reforma Self-Guided Audio Walk: The Ángel, the Diana Cazadora and the Monumento a la Revolución

About this experience

Paseo de la Reforma began as a carriage road laid out for Emperor Maximilian. Ever since, Mexico has used it to decide who deserves a statue, and lately people have changed it from below. Start at Chapultepec's lion gate and the Estela de Luz, pass a 1929 house moved for a skyscraper, and hear the story of the Diana Cazadora. Walk among the heroines added since 2020, on to the Ángel de la Independencia, whose base has gained fourteen steps as the city sank. Follow the statue row to Cuauhtémoc's 1887 monument, the Senate and the roundabout where Columbus once stood, then end at the Monumento a la Revolución and the Frontón México. Twelve stops, about 3.1 km and 110 minutes, at your own pace in English or Spanish. Everything is seen from public sidewalks; the Monumento's lookout is ticketed and not included.

What's included

Walk Mexico City's grand avenue from Chapultepec's lion gate past the Diana, the Ángel and Cuauhtémoc to the Monumento a la Revolución, through statues, towers and protest memorials.
