Lower Manhattan Self-Guided Audio Walk: Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial and the Charging Bull
110 minutes

About this experience
Lower Manhattan is where New York's money began, and its buildings still wear the costumes money chose: a customs house with the god of commerce on every column, a bank built like a Florentine palace over a vault of gold, a skyscraper christened the Cathedral of Commerce. Start at Battery Park and the Charging Bull, find the tavern where Washington said farewell to his officers, and stand by the statue that marks where he took the first presidential oath on Wall Street, facing the Stock Exchange and Trinity Church. See the office block whose shadow led to the country's first zoning law, pause at the 9/11 Memorial pools and the Oculus, and end at the African Burial Ground, rediscovered in 1991. Twelve stops, about 3.5 km and just under two hours, in English and at your own pace. Start whenever you like; entry to the 9/11 Museum and other ticketed sites is not included.
